Happy Monday!
We’re just a couple of days away from Josh D’Amaro officially succeeding Bob Iger as the CEO of the Walt Disney Company. To celebrate that – I thought it would be a good week to share this quote from him:
These are inspiring words. And also – slightly challenging.
Because honestly - sometimes change feels like enough on its own. We leave the job, end the relationship, drop the habit, or someone changes our route without our voice… and we exhale. Done.
But Josh D'Amaro – who is one of extraordinary visionaries behind Disney's parks and experiences (my happy place) highlights something that deserves a moment:
Change isn't the destination, but elevation is. Goosies, right?
Disney provides a great example of this. When they reimagine an attraction or transform a space, they do more than update it or give it a shiny new coat of paint. They dream it into something more magical and more meaningful than it was before. The change serves something greater.
Now THAT feels inspiring!
So, what does creating ‘better’ look like in real life?
It looks like leading with intention (not just reaction), honoring what came before, giving yourself permission to evolve, raising your own standards, and becoming a source of inspiration.
Change for good.
This week, look at one area of your life where you're in the middle of (or resisting) change. Ask yourself: "how do I make what's next even better than what was?"
