Message from Buzz Lightyear

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!

Did you watch any of the Artemis II coverage this past week? I was absolutely glued to it. Four incredible astronauts, a 10-day journey around the Moon, traveling over 252,000 miles from Earth. The first humans to venture that far into space since Apollo. Concluding the mission with a successful splashdown in the Pacific. And along the entire journey, the displayed joy, laughter and togetherness, sharing more inspirational words of wisdom than they probably even realized. Humanity at its best.

There's something about this whole experience - watching humans do something that once seemed completely impossible (with such belief, calm and confidence) - that I cannot shake.

Which brings me to the only quote I could possibly use this week:

Man – Buzz Lightyear would have CRUSHED that mission! 😀

Here is what I love about Buzz and that line that he is most known for. When he says it, he isn’t being naïve or egotistical. He is committed. So committed that he certainly isn’t going to let the limits or judgments other people define how far he's willing to go.

The same was true for the Artemis II crew and the entire NASA team. They didn’t just wake up the week before launch and decide to fly to the Moon. They spent years researching, testing and training – making so many sacrifices. They trusted the people around them and worked as a team to make it all happen.

And then the crew sat in a rocket and launched into deep space, knowing there were a thousand things that could go wrong - because they believed the mission was worth it.

That's living into your biggest desires. Even when it’s scary.

I think about how often we put invisible ceilings on ourselves (🙋‍♀️). We stop at what seems "realistic" and scale back the dream before we let ourselves get uncomfortable.

What if you let yourself think a little more like Buzz and the Artemis II crew of Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy? What if you stretched just a bit toward infinity and beyond?

That's where you’ll find the magic.

What's one thing you've been holding back on because it feels too big, too risky, or too far out of reach? Write it down - naming it is the first step toward it!

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
