Message from Edna Mode

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!

You know I love digging into our unique characteristics and understanding how they shape our approach. One area I’ve been reflecting on lately is problem-solving.

Challenges show up all the time - in our work, in our leadership, and in our lives. Some people embrace them with grit and determination. Others avoid them like the plague.

Here’s what I know: problems rarely just go away on their own. That’s why I love this quote from one of my all-time favorite characters, Edna Mode from The Incredibles:

Leave it to Edna to pack an entire motivational speech into just a few words. It’s a reminder we all need from time to time: avoiding the problem doesn’t make it go away. It just lets it grow in the background.

In leadership, and in life, we’re often tempted to sidestep conflict, delay tough decisions, or hope challenges resolve themselves. But more often than not, the weight of what we avoid drains our energy far more than the challenge itself ever would.

When we choose to confront the problem head-on, we activate our power. Confronting doesn’t always mean fighting aggressively - it can look like asking the hard question in a meeting, setting a boundary with clarity and kindness, or admitting that something isn’t working and choosing a new path.

Edna’s words of “Fight! Win!” aren't about perfection or control. It’s about courage, resilience, and ownership. It’s about standing tall in the face of discomfort and trusting that on the other side of action lies growth, clarity, and results.

You ready to go?

What problem are you avoiding and how can you shift your thinking to foster action?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
