Happy Monday!
It’s been another heavy week in our country and here in Minnesota.
I was out with a friend, sharing stories about the state of the world and we were saying how the formula to humanity hasalways been there. And it’s not new and it’s not that complicated.
The main ingredients: compassion and curiosity.
I love this quote from Eeyore for this moment:
Bringing it down to the everyday – it can be helpful to remember that life (and leadership) doesn’t always require big gestures, bold statements, or perfectly crafted plans. So often, the moments that matter most are a bit quieter.
Moments like listening with full attention, pausing before responding, getting curious instead of assuming and acknowledging that others are likely carrying mor than we can see.
In times like these, that consideration might look different for different people – showing up to peaceful protests, delivering meals to those who are afraid to leave their homes or simply offering extra kindness to their neighbors.
This is what it means to be human…with an extra dose of humanity.
It is our responsibility to think about how our words land, how decisions ripple, or how stress shows up in the room. This kind of awareness changes the experience for those around us. People feel seen, safety increases and trust has room to grow.
Small choices add up. And often, they’re the very thing that shifts everything.
This week, consider what extra small considerations you can make for others.
