WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT
Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!
Many people I coach have people-pleasing tendencies. These are such thoughtful people. They are harmony-keepers and can sense what everyone else in the room needs before a word is spoken. There is something deeply beautiful about that.
I like this quote by sweet, kind Olaf from the Disney animated film, Frozen:
At first glance, that quote can feel like confirmation that people-pleasing is the goal.
But I’m going to challenge that a bit. Because just like everything – there are two sides to this.
There is a helpful side to people-pleasing: →You are attuned. →You care. →You value connection. →You want others to feel safe and supported.
And there is an unhelpful side: →You overextend. →You silence your preferences. →You say yes when you mean no. →You carry quiet resentment.
The difference isn’t whether you consider someone else’s needs.
The difference is whether you shrink, or even disappear, in the process.
When it’s healthy - whether in leadership, in friendship, in family or in everyday interactions – it is intentional. It’s a choice and not fueled by a fear of disappointing someone.
It’s a both/and, not an either/or. It sounds like: “I matter. And you matter.”
You can do a quick self-check by asking:
Am I doing this from generosity… or from anxiety?
Am I supporting them… while also supporting myself?
This week, if you notice your people-pleasing tendencies show up – pause and get curious. Do you like where it’s coming from and what results it is creating for yourself?
Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
