Message from Rapunzel
WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT
Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).
original message date: 02/23/26
Happy Monday!
Right now - there is a different feel in the air.
When something unsettles a community, you can feel it - not just in headlines, but in conversations, in gathering spaces, in the way people check in with each other.
And right now, in my community, across the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota, people are choosing to show up. To protect. To care. To stand for what they believe is right.
And it’s coming from a place of love.
I feel it everywhere. Including within in myself.
Because ultimately, it’s in the individual where the magic happens!
It reminded me of a quote from Rapunzel in Disney’s Tangled:
Rapunzel isn’t fighting with anger. She’s not fighting to prove something. She’s fighting because she finally understands who she is - and what matters.
That kind of fight feels different.
It’s not frantic or reactive. It’s grounded.
And sometimes life (and leadership) requires that kind of fight. Not the loud or ego-driven kind - but the steady, values-based, human kind.
The kind that says:
I will fight for clarity when confusion would be easier.
I will fight for connection when it would be simpler to shut down.
I will fight for people — even when outcomes feel uncertain.
I will fight to stay aligned with who I am, even when it costs me comfort.
There are moments when it would be easier to shrink, to stay quiet and to maintain the status quo.
But the people who make the greatest impact are the ones who decide, internally:
I won’t stop.
I will keep showing up.
I will keep learning.
I will keep choosing courage over convenience.
And here’s the human part - fighting doesn’t mean burning yourself out.
It means advocating for what matters, protecting your values and standing for dignity, humanity, and growth - in yourself and in others.
Sometimes the fight is external and sometimes it’s internal (against self-doubt, fear, or the urge to play small).
Both count.
You don’t have to fight everything. But the things that matter are worth your energy!
What is worth fighting for right now - in your leadership, your work, or your life?
Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
