Message from Remy

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 11/02/26

Happy Monday!

There’s a lot of talk about change right now – you know, with the midterms this week and all. And the talk about change is for good reason! Here’s the thing I want to say loud and clear…we cannot rest on the thought that change is something that happens out there. That someone else makes it, decides it, or causes it, and the rest of us live with the results.

I, for one, do not buy that. And neither does Remy, the rat with big dreams, from Disney/Pixar’s 2007 film, Ratatouille:

In this scene, Remy’s dad tells him the world is the way it is, so he should keep his head down and stick with his own kind. Sure, that might feel safe, but does it contribute to changing the world around us for the better?

We can’t argue that change is happening. But what we can be clear on is that we get to be part of it. We don’t have to wait for permission or for someone to hand us a seat at the table. Remy didn’t. He decided, and then he got himself into the kitchen – a place that a rat shouldn’t be (per societal standards).

That’s what I want for all of us this week. Change isn’t only something that happens to us. It’s something we help shape every day, in our families, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and the conversations we’re willing to have. It happens in the small choices too: who we listen to, how we treat people, and where we put our time and energy.

None of that requires a title or a big platform. It just requires deciding that our part matters. Because it does! And my favorite part? One person’s choices ripple out further than we’ll ever know!

So this week, instead of watching change happen, I’m choosing to be part of it. How about you?

Pick one place where you want to see something change and then ask yourself: What’s my part in making it happen? Take one step to start that change!

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
