Happy Monday!
I finally caught the new 2025 Marvel film Captain America: A Brave New World on a recent flight. While the movie itself was just okay in my book (though Anthony Mackie was great!), this line from Sam Wilson stuck with me:
Doesn’t it feel like we’re living this right now?
It can feel increasingly hard to see the good in each other. We’re in divisive times. Opinions get weaponized, and when someone challenges our beliefs, the instinct to disconnect can feel totally justified.
And to be clear - there are people whose actions we should not excuse, minimize, or try to “see the good” in. Harmful ideologies, injustice, abuse of power, minimizing basic humanity - those don’t get a pass!
But in our everyday leadership and relationships - when we stop looking for any goodness and don’t value the uniqueness in the people around us - we risk losing the fight for something much bigger:
· Connection
· Collaboration
· Progress
· A more human world
The fight isn’t against each other - it’s for something greater. And it starts with choosing to stay curious, empathetic, and open. These are the true superpowers.
