Message from Master Yoda

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 08/10/26

Happy Monday!

Failure.

I have a weird relationship with that word. It makes me feel heavy, incompetent, unworthy. And if you have any perfectionist or people-pleasing tendencies like I do – you might be tracking with me!

I do realize, though, that these feelings are based on my very own thoughts. Because it is, after all, just a word.

That’s why I prefer to redirect my brain to follow these words from the wise Jedi Master from the Star Wars franchise:

It is easy to celebrate our wins (well, sometimes). Celebration feels good and validating. But I do believe that our true strength is built during our toughest setbacks. Not meeting our goals or expectations might feel like roadblocks – but they are actually the exact lessons we need to grow, innovate, and move forward.

Take for example – if I had stopped every time I had a failure in my business, you would not be getting this email today, and I would not be doing the work I love.

I’ve failed in my business many times. And while I don’t pretend I’m not disappointed or don’t spend (definitely too much) time sulking and beating myself up – I have spent time examining that failure. What happened? What did I miss? What did I overdo? What thoughts was I having? What would I do differently? What was the lesson and how can I apply it as I go forward?

That’s the strength. That’s the growth.

Here are three suggestions if you notice you could benefit from a shift in mindset:

·  Acknowledge your setbacks. Don’t let them take root in your brain. Write it all down, share with someone you trust, get it out in the open.

·  Decide how you can use this situation (a.k.a. “failure”) as a stepping stone to outperform your previous best.

·  Choose progress instead of letting the fear of failing stop you from taking courageous action.

Teachers are one of the most valuable gifts we have in our lifetime.

And the greatest teacher, failure is. ✨

Consider a “failure” that you have experienced. What lessons can you glean from that experience? What thoughts did you have about yourself and are those thoughts helpful?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
