WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!

I was talking with someone close to me last week about life with teenagers. We found ourselves dreaming about what it would be like if our teens opened up more - sharing what’s really going on in their lives. I described how I imagined more laughter, connection, understanding, and even moments to share wisdom. I liked my dream!

But then they said, “It’s not possible. That’s never going to happen.”

I’ll admit - I was a little taken off guard. I didn’t see this dream as impossible.

The thing is, once we declare that something can’t happen, our brains often go to work proving that belief right. And that kind of thinking shuts down possibility before it even has a chance.

So when I came across this quote by Bob Weiss, former President of Walt Disney Imagineering and author of the new book Dream Chasing, the timing felt just right:

It’s easy to forget this – especially as ‘responsible’ adults and as leaders - where plans, outcomes, and KPIs tend to take center stage.

Dreams aren’t bound by logistics, job titles, past experiences or limiting beliefs. They come from the part of us that sees what could be, not just what is. And this isn’t about being ‘woo woo’ or naïve - it’s simply about allowing space for creativity, vision, and belief before the “how” takes over. It creates that future version of ourselves and our ideal situations. It gives our brains something to aim for.

In leadership and life, it’s easy to fall into practicality mode. But what if we made just a little room for possibility?

Trust me – it’s way more fun. ✨

Give yourself permission to go there! You might find a new idea, a next step, or a burst of energy that you didn’t know you needed.

Think of one area of your life or leadership where you've felt stuck lately. Now ask yourself: What would this look like if anything were possible?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
