Happy Monday!
Sometimes relationships are easy. Other times, they’re messy. They ebb and flow - smooth, then complicated, then maybe back to solid again.
Through it all, we have choices. We can learn, adjust, and choose how (and if) we want to course-correct.
I love these words Bo Peep says to Woody in Toy Story 4:
And that’s not just true with others - it’s true with ourselves, too. The relationship we have with ourselves deserves that same level of attention, curiosity, and commitment.
Let’s be honest - how many times have we walked away from our own voice? How often have we:
Minimized what we really want?
Said yes when we meant no?
Silenced our gut to avoid being judged?
It’s easy to start dimming our own light to keep the peace or meet expectations. But over time, that can leave us feeling disconnected from who we really are.
What would it be like if you made a promise to yourself? A promise to:
Have your own back - even when it’s hard.
Honor what you know is true, even when others don’t see it.
Stay committed to who you are, even when external voices tell you otherwise.
When you’re tempted to walk away from yourself (your needs, your values, your voice) – don’t. Choose you! Make that your habit.
This week – think about where in your life you are being invited to stay true to yourself - especially when it would be easier not to?
