In the 2005 Disney movie Chicken Little, a young chicken causes a town-wide panic by believing the sky is falling after a small piece of an alien spacecraft hits him.
Isn’t that how it feels sometimes? In leadership - and in life - we all experience those “sky is falling” moments.
This quote offers a helpful perspective:
Perhaps some of these scenarios resonate:
A project falls off track
Someone questions our capability
Our confidence drops and the inner voice gets loud
Social media accentuates the chaos of the world around us
This is where it is helpful to remember: A hard moment doesn’t determine a whole day. A hard day doesn’t decide our future.
As humans – and especially in leadership roles - we often feel like we’re supposed to hold it all together and appear solid, certain, and composed.
But the reality is – strength isn’t perfection. It’s noticing the feeling, pausing before reacting, and choosing to uncover different perspectives.
Every day gives us another chance, to show up and check our thoughts.
So if today feels heavy - let it inform you. Just don’t assume it needs to define tomorrow.
