You know there are many things that I love about the life and legacy of Walt Disney. One of those things is how he rarely deviated from his focus of entertaining and inspiring through storytelling – all in service of making people happy.
This Walt quote speaks to this:
When he spoke these words, he was clear on what mattered most. Disneyland wasn’t just another project or product - it was the heart of his vision. Everything else was designed to support and enhance it. And much of what came next was rooted in it.
It’s such a powerful reminder for us as leaders (and humans): we all have something that’s meant to take center stage — our purpose, our core values, our “why.”
Over time, the spotlight can shift. We start giving significant amount of attention to things like to-do’s, others’ expectations or approval and even fear.
It takes an occasional pause to make sure you’re in alignment with what really should be getting the spotlight.
When you know what the real star is, everything else falls into its rightful place. This is what will bring your vision to life!
