Message from Cinderella

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 10/13/25

Happy Monday!

How much time do you give yourself to really dream? Not to set SMART goals or craft a vision statement, but the no-rules, nothing-gets-in-your-way, in-an-ideal-world kind of dreaming? Sometimes it feels like that isn’t a valuable use of time - because, well, it breaks the rules.

But Cinderella’s 1950 stance on dreaming feels badassery. And I love it:

Even seventy-five years later, that line still feels bold. Because let’s be honest - they try.

  • Society tells us to “be realistic.”

  • Workplaces tend to reward execution over imagination.

  • Some bosses ask for numbers, not new ideas.

  • Even our own inner critic whispers, “Who do you think you are?”

But here’s the thing: every meaningful change, innovation, or act of courage started as a dream someone refused to set down.

Dreaming isn’t a waste of time. It’s agency - the act of claiming your right to imagine something better.

It’s what allows us to see beyond the way things are and move toward what could be.

As humans, we owe it to ourselves and the people we support to protect the space for dreaming - because without vision, we simply exist in the status quo.

Where have you been told (explicitly or quietly) to shrink your dream? And what would it look like to hold your ground and dream anyway?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
