Happy Monday!
There are some characters I simply can't get enough of, and Kermit the Frog is one of them. Humble, caring, quiet (most of the time)... and so full of wisdom, always aimed at helping his friends see the goodness already in them.
So it’s easy for me to grab a quote from my favorite felt frog. This week – I picked one of my faves from The Muppet Movie:
By default – it seems like many of us go through our lives following a script someone else wrote - reacting to what lands in our inbox, playing the role we've always played, letting old habits and other people's expectations write our “scenes” for us.
But here's the thing: you're not just a character in this story…you're the author! Sometimes we need a little reminder (at least I do!).
Maybe some of these will hit home…that relationship that's been frustrating you? You get to write what happens next. That confidence you've been waiting to feel before you speak up? You get to write the next page. The leader (or person) you're becoming - the one asks for help instead of doing it all, who sets boundaries, who trusts their own voice – you write that ending, one choice at a time.
Oh, Kermit. You sure know what you’re talking about. And if you want to hear the song where he says these words…here you go!
