Hello, mid-June! Here’s to more sunlight, warm breezes and patio happy hours!
In addition to grad parties and gatherings with friends…I’m having such meaningful conversations with colleagues and clients.
This quote from Miss Piggy from the Muppets summarizes two of my favorite themes:
Here is what it captures:
· The benefit of staying out of other people’s brains.
· The beauty of unapologetically owning who you are.
How many of us have said (or thought) some version of I don't care what people think - and then spent the next hour replaying a conversation, wondering how we came across?
Um..yeah - me too.
Here's my truth - the goal isn't to stop caring entirely. I don’t think that’s realistic for most of us. And – that’s more about putting up armor than it is about being confident.
Confidence comes in when you don’t need othersapproval to feel okay about yourself.
That difference is magic!
And - when you're owning your confidence, your awesomeness - you can still care how you show up. But they don’t get to decide how you feel about yourself.
Miss Piggy is quite the model for this. Plus – her sass is simply infectious. May we all walk into this week with just a little bit of Miss Piggy energy. 😀
