Happy Monday!
It’s November! And boy – it’s showing up in all of its November glory here in Minnesota. The days are getting shorter, the skies are a bit gloomier, and the temperature is forcing me to get out the heavy jackets.
It feels like the right time to bring out this quote from Winnie the Pooh:
What a beautiful reminder that we don’t always get to choose the weather — in the sky or in our lives. But we do get to choose how we meet it!
Rainy days can feel inconvenient or gloomy. They can slow us down, cancel plans, or muddy our paths.
But they can also nourish what’s growing and invite us to pause. Sometimes the “puddles” we resist are actually invitations! They might be an invitation to tap into our joy, let go of what we can’t control or find ways to spread much needed kindness.
Leadership (and life) asks for that same mindset. The ability to adapt, to look for possibility instead of perfection, and to remember that growth often happens in the moments we didn’t plan for.
When life feels a little cloudy, see what might happen if you don’t rush to get out of the rain! Slow down and take that breath. And maybe even play in the puddles. 🌧️
